Celebs’ Outdoor Party Rooms

Every fall, I retreat to my back porch where I enjoy my fire pit and entertaining friends. Unfortunately, living in Indiana, the weather often puts a damper on my plans. Luckily, I can live vicariously through several celebrities’ homes in the perfect weather of Southern California. Here are a few of my favorite outdoor party rooms.

Lizzie McGuire grows up

1. Hillary Duff:  Everyone’s favorite childhood Disney star is all grown up now and happily entertains friends and families in this cozy space. The home’s inviting outdoor spaces get a romantic, Old World ambiance from fireplaces, tranquil water features and vine-covered trellises. The estate’s other open-air entertaining areas include a pool, a spa and several alfresco dining rooms.

Malcolm in the middle of the city

2.  Frankie Muniz:  Set within his gated property in Los Angeles’ desirable lower Doheny Drive area, Malcolm in the Middle actor Frankie Muniz’s backyard feels like a serene oasis in the heart of the city. The natural stone patio is flanked by a brick fireplace and a peaceful lighted pool and spa. Lush plantings provide privacy for the inviting space.

Theron’s tranquil retreat

3.  Charlize Theron:  Charlize’s fire pit area makes me green with envy. The oldest home on exclusive La Costa Beach in Malibu, Calif., Charlize’s home is bordered by a lounge-like deck with a hot tub, a fire pit and water features. Just past the deck, the home also offers a covered lanai with comfortable, coastal-chic furnishings and walls of glass framing exquisite ocean views. Wonder if she would be interested in trading so she can enjoy the cooler fall temps of Indiana?

Lachey’s luxurious lair

4.  Nick Lachey:  He certainly isn’t in Cincinnati anymore with this outdoor space! Set on a private ridge, the four-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom home offers a media room, a swimming pool and spectacular views of the Los Angeles skyline and the Pacific Ocean.

Would love to hear any and all thoughts!
